Memphis Wedding at The Cadre
On Saturday, I had the honor of photographing this Memphis wedding at The Cadre Building for my best friend of 16 years 🥹
It know it might seem like a crazy thing to be both the matron of honor & photographer at your friend’s wedding-but I could not have loved this experience more!! I loved getting to be with Seyi & Kelli for every important part of the day (seeing their first look, getting to congratulate them as soon as they got married, special moments with family, etc. 🥹). And to be honest, I would have been way too jealous if I had to watch another photographer get to work with them 😂
I really can’t say thank you enough to Kelli & Seyi for trusting me with all of it 😭 I also can’t say thank you enough to my associate shooter, Victoria Ashley, for making this possible. She took over the parts of this wedding day that I wasn’t able to photograph, & she did an incredible job!!
The entire wedding weekend could not have been more perfect. I honestly don’t even know where to begin when it comes to writing this blog. There’s so much I could say, but I realized that I kind of already said what I needed to in the rehearsal dinner speech I shared on Friday…so I’m just going to attach that here, & then let the photos tell the story of this incredible day 🤍
I feel very lucky to have known Kelli for quite a long time. We’ve been friends for 16 years now—so Kelli and I went through Jr. High & high school together. Then we were college roommates. And then we got to live together for a few more years after we graduated. Like I said, 16 years is a long time. And of course, a lot of things have changed in our lives over the years. And we have changed a bit since jr. high. But even through all the changes of my life, I feel very blessed that one thing that has always been a constant for me is Keli’s friendship. And if you know Kelli, you know she is the textbook definition of a good friend. During your best moments, she’s there to celebrate you. During your worst moments, she’s there to support you without any judgement. She’s kind and selfless. She’s honestly more concerned for my own safety than I am—she always has to track my car when I’m driving alone! And really anyone here could stand up and have a million good things to say about Kelli. I just feel very lucky that I’ve been able to experience her friendship for so long—it’s really been such a gift.
And I wanted to say that I hope Seyi knows how lucky he is. But I don’t have to hope because I know that he knows how lucky he is. He treats Kelli like an absolute queen. And it makes me so happy to see how happy Seyi makes my best friend. Y’all are honestly just perfect for each other and I’m so excited for y’all! Marriage is so much fun and such a gift. Congrats Seyi and Kelli!!
